When i started to read, i didn’t understand what is this article about because it’s the first time that i saw the term “tabloidization”. After reading some, i understood what does it mean. It’s an important issue in our country, so this article can be very useful. Author explains her argument well i think and she supports her argument with examples and statistics. Also she gives some counter arguments and this helps her to support her argument. The article is not boring and it can be read easily.

I see that, Turkish media is criticized by society and i think they are right because day by day, our media is losing it’s realibility.

There are lots of media outlets in Turkey but most of them are under one hand and this person is Aydın Doğan. He also known as “Media King” in our country. His media outlets are looking situations in same perspective. Personally, i don’t read these media outlets because i thinks they don’t publish reality. They always show situations in a way which is beneficial fot them and show them “big”. There are other media outlets too but i think they are not realistic too. We can see lots of difference in one information and rightly, our society don’t believe them. People mostly read newspaper and watch TV channel which is logical for them.

I want to give an example that shows media outlets’ unreality. Before elections, nearly all newspapers made surveys about this elections and all newspapers show results for their “perspective” and “political idea”. None of them show real.

I say they are unrealistic but some of them are more reliability than the others and i read only them because others are trash in my opinion.

My relationship with media is not good but not bad too. Actually i’m not interested in TV last 2 years but before, i was watching TV more. On the other hand, i always read at least one online newspaper in a day. As a result, i have some opinions about media.

On TV, i only watch sport programmes, sometimes news and to be honest, when i get bored, i sometimes watch advertisements. Some things that i see on these programmes makes me angry. For example when i’m watching a football match, there are some advertisement on TV appeared and it really make me frustrated because sometimes it appears on the ball in an important position and i cannot watch it some seconds. Secondly, i see that, in our media, advertisements are really foolish and it makes me to close TV. The biggest problem is about news. I think some news doesn’t show real. Also i want to lighten an important point. At summer there was a bomb exploded and i was watching a programme about it and this programme showed some death people’s photos and i think this is unethical and this makes a negative effect on society.

Lastly, both on TV and newspapers, we can see that a situation can be published in different sides. We cannot know which one is the truth but i think, none of them are true.

But there are some useful and beneficial programs are published too and some programmes are published “unadvertised” and i watch them easily.

Finally, there are negative and positive points too but in my opinion, negavite points are more than the others and this makes me think badly about our media.

It’s a Turkish film named “Aile Şerefi”, and published in 1976. Main charachters were performed by Münir Özkül (Rıza) and Adile Naşit (Adile). The film is about a family that live for their honor. Father, Rıza, sells water, mother, Adile, is a housewife. They have 3 sons named, Selim, Hasan and Murat and 2 daughter called Ayşe and Zeynep. Ayşe is married and his husband’s name is Zihni.

The parents want Zeynep to marry Mustafa who is friend of Selim. Zeynep is agreed to marry him too. One day, when Zeynep go to cinema with his brother Murat who goes to primary school, a car hit him. The guy named Oktay was driving the car and after that, Oktay see Zeynep and he fall in love with him, but Zeynep doesn’t love him because his is a bad guy. Oktay says his father (fabricator) that he wanted to marry with her and his father says that he do everything for his son in this life. So, Oktay plays role to attract Zeynep, like going Zeynep’s house for Murat’s accident.

Rıza is disturbed from this situation and he goes to Oktay’s father with Adile, but Oktay’s father insult them. After that, one day, when Zeynep and Mustafa go to the home, Oktay kidnap Zeynep, and Mustafa goes to home and says to family this situation. Selim and Hasan go after to Oktay and they find him, but Selim is stabbed by Oktay. The father, Rıza, takes his riffle, finds Oktay and shoots him. Oktay is died and Rıza goes to the prison. After years, Rıza is released from prison, goes his house and live happily with his family because his rescues his family’s honor.

This film is a good model for “good family relationship”. Everbody is happy. They can die for their honor. There is no conflict between family members. They can solve every problem by cooperation of family. On the other side, Oktay’s family is a bad model of family. His father does everything that his son wants, he never says “no” to him. So, Oktay was grown up as a bad person.

Marriage is an agreement that a person is going to live with his/her “life-partner” forever. But same sex marriage is totally different i think because there is no need for them to marry. Only some reasons make them to marry like financial participation. I think it’s nonsense because there is no procreation in same-sex marriage, and same-sex marriages are forbidden in many countries. It’s not looked with in favor from societies too.

At early ages of daugher, their relationship was well but when she told that se was lesbian, her father’s reaction was harsh. She was teenager but this couldn’t be a reason for her fault i think because she started to think not good things about her father, she said father “disgusting” and i think father was right. Also i think, the conclusion can be better because i expected different things like start of good relationship between father and daughter again or like this. In addition to this, vocabulary is not difficult for me to understand and this is another advantage of story.
